With its deep-ochre undertone, Bassoon is an unsung hero of historical decoration. Drab yellow and brown paint colours were favourites in the functional ‘back-of-house’ areas of yesterday’s grand homes due to their ability to disguise dirt. Today, the earthy tones of this muted yellow paint colour still offers the same practicality and infrequent need to be repainted.
